About DNB Finland Branch

 

DNB Finland Branch is the Finnish branch of DNB Bank ASA, headquartered in Norway and one of the most prominent financial institutions in the Nordics. In Finland, we offer corporate and investment banking services together with DNB Carnegie, serving large corporates and institutions. Our strategic ambition is to significantly expand our presence in Finland over the next 5-8 years. We have recently signed a new 10-year lease agreement for joint offices in central Helsinki to accommodate approximately 140 employees.

 

 

We are now looking for an experienced Client Executive to cover existing clients and participate in new client acquisition in our Corporate Banking team in Finland.

 

 

About the Client Executive role

The Client Executive is responsible for day-to-day customer relationship management. This includes leading and motivating customer teams to create an optimal customer experience while meeting agreed business targets. The Client Executive will serve as the cornerstone of the customer relationship, ensuring top-level service, stability, continuity, and long-term value.

 

The role includes managing a portfolio of customers, involving relevant product areas, and engaging in advisory services. In addition, the Client Executive will be responsible for new client acquisition in the market.

 

 

About the industry sectors

DNB’s client coverage model, client selection and credit approvals are based on industry verticals. This Client Executive role will work with one or more of the following sectors: Industrials; Consumer Trade & Services; Financial Institutions, Telecom, Media & Tech; and/or Healthcare. In Finland, there are currently four dedicated Client Executives working closely with our colleagues in Oslo and Stockholm. We work with a long-term perspective and deliver broad and relevant services to new and existing customers through close collaboration with product areas such as DNB Carnegie including ECM/DCM, Investment Banking and FICC, Transaction Banking, and DNB Finans.

 

With our growth ambitions, we are now seeking a Client Executive based in Helsinki. In this role, you will take over a client portfolio with existing customers within the sectors listed above and gradually build the portfolio further in close cooperation with relevant Industry teams and other Client Executives. You will be part of the Helsinki team, while also collaborating closely with industry and product colleagues in Stockholm, Oslo, as well as with credit analysts in Helsinki. You will report to the local Branch Head in Finland, who also heads corporate banking in Helsinki, and have a dotted reporting line to the Industrials Sector Head who is based in Stockholm.

 

 

As a Client Executive, you will be responsible for:

  • Account planning and goalsetting per customer in accordance with agreed sales and profitability targets for the section, optimizing customer wallet share
  • Participating in prospecting new clients in the agreed sectors, in line with DNB’s client selection strategy
  • Acting as a proactive strategic advisor by:
    • Managing and developing customer teams to address customer needs and to realize full cross-sales potential
    • Providing advisory across the full range of the client’s capital needs
    • Driving profitable growth through:
      • handling, and where relevant, identifying event-driven deals
      • structuring deals to ensure effective capital use
  • Taking a strategic view of the customer’s capital structure and financial products based on the customer’s business objectives, market conditions, and the behavior of the customer’s key competitors and industry peers
  • Having overall credit responsibility
  • Understanding and communicating relevant risk (credit, AML, compliance, operational, environmental, social, and governance)
  • Ensuring compliance with KYC, AML, and other regulatory requirements in lending assessments and related documentation
  • Participating in and/or leading relevant projects and tasks allocated by management

 

 

Competence requirements and experience:

  • 5-10 years of experience in corporate banking, investment banking, or financial services, including credit competence
  • Experience leading customer teams with a proven track record of building strong internal and external relationships based on engagement and trust
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and business understanding of one or more of the industry verticals mentioned above
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities in Finnish and English; fluency in Swedish or Norwegian is an advantage
  • Results-oriented mindset and a passion for exceeding client expectations
  • International experience is a plus
  • Higher academic business education in Finance, Economics, or a related field

You excel in interpersonal and communication skills, adeptly fostering and maintaining internal and external networks through close collaboration with colleagues across the bank. As a change advocate, you actively seek process improvements and champion innovation whenever possible. You are comfortable traveling across the Nordics and internationally to meet clients and colleagues.
