Senior Client Manager
Are you passionate about finance, building strong client relationships and helping clients to reach their strategic goals? We’re looking for a talented Client Manager to join our team!
Future & Tech Industries (F&T) division has the responsibility for DNB’s largest customers within the sectors Industrials, Consumer Trade & Services, Financial Institutions, Healthcare, TMT & Business Services, and Financial Sponsors, also supported by a Customer Analysis Section (CAS). The division is represented in Oslo, Sweden (Stockholm, Gothenborg, Malmö), Copenhagen, Helsinki, London, New York, Singapore/Australia and Santiago.
The Client Manager has primary responsibility for the day-to-day customer relationship. This encompasses leading and motivating customer teams to create an optimal customer experience while meeting agreed business targets. The Client Manager will be the cornerstone of the customer relationship ensuring top level customer service and providing stability, continuity and long-term value. The Client Manager will have a portfolio of customers that includes responsibility to cross sell products and engage in advisory services.
The Industrials section
The Industrials section covers the subindustries Manufacturing, Automotive, Food, Forest, Metal & Mining and suppliers related to these subsectors. In Finland, we are three dedicated Client Managers and Client Advisors today working closely with our colleagues in Oslo and the rest of the Nordics. We are building on DNB’s strong market position in the Nordics together with leading players within each subindustry and our aim is to take a lead position on Sustainability within these segments. We deliver broad and relevant services to our customers by close cooperation with other product areas such as DNB Markets including ECM, Investment Banking and FICC, DNB Finans, Working Capital Solutions and Treasury Management among others.
With our growth ambitions we are now looking for a Client Manager, placed in Helsinki. In this position you will take over an industrial’s client portfolio with existing customers and gradually build up the portfolio further in close cooperation with other Client Managers. You will be part of the Helsinki team but also have close cooperation with our Industrials colleagues in Stockholm, Oslo and the Customer Analysis Section (CAS). You will report to the local Branch Head in Finland, who also heads corporate banking in Helsinki, and have a dotted reporting line to the Industrials Sector Head who is based in Oslo.
As a Client Manager you have the responsibility to:
- Drive profitable growth for existing clients in the industrial’s client portfolio to optimize customer wallet
- Ensure account planning and goalsetting per customer in accordance with agreed sales and profitability targets
- Develop and grow the client portfolio in close cooperation with other Client Managers/Advisors
- Handle and where relevant identify event-driven deals
- Structure together with our Investment Banking (IBD) experts deals to ensure effective capital use in our originate and distribute model OAD
- Take a strategic view on the customer’s capital structure and the financial products used based on the customer’s business objectives, market conditions and the behavior of the customer’s key competitors/industry peers
- Prepare and negotiate term sheets and loan agreements with customers, in close cooperation with IBD and Legal.
- Develop and build industry knowledge.
- Prepare credit cases including thorough ESG analysis in cooperation with CAS and present cases to credit committee
- Manage Exit customers
- Understand and communicate relevant non-financial risks such as AML, compliance, and operational risks together with Corporate Banking Operations (CBO) AML/KYC analysts.
- Participate/Lead relevant projects and other tasks allocated by management
Competence requirements and experience:
- 10+ years of experience in corporate banking, investment banking or financial services, including credit competence. We believe that you can assess creditworthiness and prepare credit proposals.
- Experience from leading customer teams with proven track record of creating strong internal and external relationships based on engagement and trust
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and business understanding of the manufacturing industry
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities, in either Finnish/Swedish and English
- Results-oriented mindset and a passion for exceeding client expectations.
- International experience is a plus
- Higher academic business education in Finance or/and Economics, or related field.
Personal qualities:
You excel in interpersonal and communication skills, adeptly fostering and maintaining internal and external networks through close collaboration with colleagues across the bank. As a change advocate, you actively seek process improvements and champion innovation whenever possible. You don’t mind traveling occasionally across the Nordics and Internationally to meet clients and colleagues.
