DNB Digital Banking & Savings
Software Engineer – Test Automation
Do you want to help us ensure that millions of customers can trust our digital banking services every day? Are you passionate about quality, automation, and building the safety net that lets teams ship with confidence? Digital Banking & Savings is looking for a Software Engineer with a focus on Test Automation to join our DevOps teams.
Our Teams
Our teams build and operate the channel side of DNB’s core banking products — payments, accounts, savings, budgets and spending. We have engineers working across back-end (app layer), web front-end, and native iOS and Android clients, alongside UI/UX Designers, Product Owners, and Subject Matter Experts. We work in short iterations, shipping often and adapting quickly. Quality is a shared responsibility across the full stack, and you’ll be a key part of making that real. We’re also a social bunch — we take time to celebrate wins, look out for each other, and make sure new people feel welcome from day one.
What Your Day Will Look Like
The team takes full ownership of delivery — from ideation and design to development, testing, and production deployment. As our test automation engineer, you’ll work closely with developers and product teams to design, build, and maintain automated test suites that give us confidence at every stage of the pipeline.
You’ll identify gaps in test coverage, build frameworks that others can contribute to, and help the team make quality a natural part of how we work — not an afterthought. You’ll also take part in reviewing incidents and investigating production issues, helping us learn and prevent regressions from recurring.
We use Claude and our internal AI tools — Raicode and Raiwork (raicode.no) — to help the team move faster, write better code, and explore smarter ways to test. You’ll be expected to make these tools part of how you work.
What Kind of Engineer We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who cares deeply about quality and thinks in systems — not just test cases. You communicate clearly, collaborate openly, and are equally comfortable writing code and discussing strategy with the team.
You bring structure and rigour to the testing process without slowing delivery down. You challenge how things are done, suggest improvements, and help the team build better habits around quality. You’re comfortable working across the stack — UI, API, and backend — and you know when to automate and when not to.
We’re open to both mid-level and senior candidates. What matters most is your mindset, your curiosity, and your track record of shipping quality software.
Knowledge and Skills
You have hands-on experience building and maintaining automated test frameworks, ideally in a CI/CD environment. We work primarily with Kotlin and AWS, so experience with those is a strong advantage. We’ll be excited if you also bring experience with any of the following:
- Test automation frameworks — Robot Framework, Katalon Studio, Playwright, Selenium, or Appium
- API and contract testing — SoapUI, Postman, Rest-Assured, or similar
- Programming languages — Kotlin, Java, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript
- SDLC and test methodologies — a solid understanding of the software development lifecycle, including types of testing, test planning, test strategy, test case design, and automation scripting
- SQL and database testing — querying and validating data across relational and NoSQL databases
- Performance and load testing — JMeter, HP LoadRunner, or similar
- AWS services — including DynamoDB, RDS, and CloudWatch for testing, data validation, and observability
- Test management tools — HP ALM, Octane, Zephyr, or ServiceNow; we use Jira for tracking issues and defects day-to-day
- CI/CD pipelines — GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or similar
- BDD approaches — Cucumber or equivalent
- Security testing — experience with security testing practices and tools is a plus
- UI accessibility testing — familiarity with accessibility standards (e.g. WCAG) and tools for validating UI accessibility is a plus
- Operating systems and virtualization — familiarity with various OS environments, virtualization technologies, and test environment setup is a plus
You’re comfortable working in an Agile team and understand how to balance test coverage with delivery speed.
You are fluent in English, both written and verbal; Norwegian is a plus. We value relevant higher education but acknowledge that experience can make up for this.
What’s in It for You
Challenging work that lets you grow professionally, a strong engineering culture, and real ownership over quality across the products our customers use every day. We offer competitive terms, good pension conditions, employee terms on DNB’s products, insurance schemes, access to resorts in Norway, and a wide range of discount schemes.
You’ll also be part of a wider community of test-focused engineers across DNB — sharing knowledge, aligning on practices, and raising the bar for quality together.
Knowledge and experience are our most important assets — you’ll have the opportunity to attend conferences and courses, build your own expertise, and represent DNB externally. We also offer flexible working hours, extra days off, reduced working hours during summer.

Application deadline: 20.08.2026
