Our Card Unsecured and Insurance section is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our cross-functional DevOps teams. You will play a key role in developing essential banking services such as cards, unsecured loans, insurance and digital provisioning solutions used by thousands of customers every day.

We are on a journey to leverage AI and data insights to improve our products and customer experiences. What will your day look like?
As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining the server-side solutions that power our mobile and web services. You will collaborate closely with frontend developers, designers and product owners to deliver new features and ensure a seamless customer experience. You will write clear, well-documented and maintainable code with a constant focus on quality, security and robustness.

You will help ensure our solutions are stable, scalable and future-proof, always looking for opportunities to use AI, automation and data analysis to improve both products and processes. Product understanding is essential to see the bigger picture, understand user needs and contribute ideas that move our products forward. We value team members who take initiative, drive projects and contribute to a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

What kind of developer are we looking for?
We are looking for a engineer who combines technical expertise with responsibility and the ability to get things done. You are analytical, detail-oriented and committed to delivering well-documented and robust code. You thrive in technical discussions, communicate clearly and are eager to share knowledge with the team. Experience with AI technologies, data-driven development and secure software development is a strong advantage.

You are a true “do’er” someone who takes ownership, gets things done and delivers high quality. At the same time, you are a team player who inspires and supports others, adapts to change and brings new ideas. You have a strong product mindset and understand how your work impacts the end user.

Your knowledge and skills

• Several years experience with backend development, with professional knowledge within technologies such as Java, Kotlin, AWS and SQL
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and GitHub and a DevOps way of thinking
• Experience with security best practices and robust system design
• Experience with AI, automation or data-driven development is a strong plus
• Ability to analyze legacy code and migrate data to new applications in AWS is an advantage
• Fluent in English, both written and verbal; Norwegian is a plus
• Relevant higher education or equivalent experience

Work location: Oslo or Bergen
